Old Willow Partners was founded by four individuals with diverse backgrounds in business (including marketing, sales, supply chain, and finance), law and engineering. We have extensive experience with growing businesses (from start-ups to mature entities), and with acquisitions, integrations, turnarounds and bankruptcies.
We know how to make it happen.
Theodore D. Greene, Partner Ted Greene has more than 18 years of leadership experience in building successful operations and growing companies. An accomplished entrepreneur and corporate strategist, Mr. Greene brings to Old Willow Partners the financial and managerial experience required to assist portfolio companies in their rapid growth.
From 2003 - 2006 Mr. Greene was the founding CEO of Akoya, the leading provider of on-demand; analytic software that delivers cost intelligence for highly engineered parts. The initial technology for Akoya was developed by a Fortune 100 manufacturing company. Mr. Greene was successful in commercializing the technology, delivering the product to market and driving the Company to a multi-million dollar revenue level within 18 months of product launch. He successfully raised millions in venture capital to fund the growth and recruited leading industry experts as advisors and directors.
In 1994, Mr. Greene co-founded SGS Net, an IT software and services firm providing managed business services, strategic consulting, and custom application development. Mr. Greene was CEO of the company through 2002 and served on the Board of Directors through its sale to Whitman Hart in 2004. During his tenure at SGS Net, Mr. Greene grew the company into a successful multi-million dollar company. He increased revenues more than 100 percent for five consecutive years and grew the client base from zero to 150, including anchor Fortune 500 clients.
Mr. Greene has also held positions at international financial institutions. His duties included managing financial transactions for middle-market and large corporate clients as well as leading mergers and acquisitions activities.
Mr. Greene earned an MBA at the University of Chicago, an MA at the University of South Carolina, and a BA at Miami University in Ohio.

Darren Green, Partner
Darren Green has extensive experience providing both legal and strategy advice to emerging growth companies primarily in the Midwest. Mr. Green brings to Old Willow Partners the practical combination of legal and business experience to understand the challenges of small-cap company growth.
Mr. Green's areas of focus include general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments, strategic alliances and intellectual property. Prior to joining Old Willow Partners, Darren was a sole practitioner. Darren has served as the Vice President of Business Development and Legal Affairs for MachineWeb.com, Inc., a venture capital backed business-to-business metalworking machinery exchange based in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Green was an attorney for over 6 years with Chicago based law firms, Goldberg, Kohn, Bell Black, Rosenbloom & Moritz and Altheimer & Gray.
Mr. Green earned his J.D. at the UCLA School of Law and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.

Brett Holland, Partner
Brett Holland has over 12 years of experience in marketing, operations, management, and new product development for growth oriented companies. Mr. Holland brings to Old Willow Partners the experience and entrepreneurial zeal to create and launch successful new products and business initiatives.
Mr. Holland is currently the President of Akoya, the leading provider of on-demand; analytic software that delivers cost intelligence for highly engineered parts. Mr. Holland was a co-founder of Akoya and led the original planning, product development and marketing efforts for the company. Prior to Akoya, Mr. Holland was in charge of developing new products for one of the pioneer business-to-business Internet marketplaces, PaperExchange. Mr. Holland's tenure at PaperExchange was the result of a successful sale of the company he founded, BoxDirect. Mr. Holland developed BoxDirect into one of the premier marketplaces for the corrugated packaging industry. Prior to developing BoxDirect, he served as Vice President of Operations for Summit Container, helping triple the size of the manufacturing company in two years. Mr. Holland also worked as a consultant in environmental engineering, where he gained extensive experience managing multi-disciplinary projects for both public and private clients.
Mr. Holland earned a MBA from the University of Chicago and both a MS and BS in engineering from the University of Illinois (Urbana).

Kevin E. Kasmar, Partner
Kevin Kasmar has over 25 years of diversified executive level experience in several disciplines, including general management, operations and finance/accounting. Mr. Kasmar brings to Old Willow Partners a wealth of experience in turning around and successfully operating small-cap firms.
Mr. Kasmar has served for several years in roles of financial advisor, general consultant, turnaround agent and interim CEO, COO and CFO to various small-cap manufacturing and distribution firms. Two of these businesses were distribution companies that grew rapidly through a "buy and build" strategy. One of these companies was an integrated supply business that grew to $223 million but which needed a turnaround effort, and a second which grew from $23 million to $180 million in revenues in the educational supply business. Most recently Mr. Kasmar also contracted his management services to Accenture, Inc. ($15 billion consultancy) where he worked on key accounts in the UK and in the US.
Mr. Kasmar earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA with honors from the University of Illinois (Urbana).
